Wear Gothic Clothing For Getting a Good Look

Gothic fashion is considered morbid as it features black lips, black dyed hair, dark eyeliner, dark finger-nails and black clothes. Thus, Gothic fashion clothing is a great way to express dark feelings & thoughts. Gothic clothing fashion, which was also considered a protest against the extravagance of the 1980s, can be described as a profusion of dark velvets, fishnets, lace, leather shaded with scarlet, tight corsets, gloves, accessorized with silver ornaments. More elegant and sophisticated styles of dressing were seen in the early Gothic period. Sleeves became tight and the forearms enjoyed more importance. Minimal trimmings on the Gothic dresses were also a feature of the early Gothic period. The Gothic dresses became longer and the necklines went deeper. With the passage of time, Gothic clothing styles changed with the fabrics looking stiffer in their appearance.

One of the Gothic garments, Gothic corset, is a piece of clothing that shapes a girls body like an hourglass. It is historical in nature as it traces you back to the Victorian and medieval ages. The Gothic corsets are great fashion clothing as was in the medieval. In the beginning, Gothic corsets were very uncomfortable to wear. It was with the passage of time that Gothic corsets became softer and convenient. Many of the Gothic clothes such as fishnets are summer temperature friendly. Fishnets can be worn on legs, arms, or even as shirts and jumpers. Lace-trimmed long skirt, flowing gauzy skirts and cotton bloomers are some of those parts of Gothic clothing that are very comfortable to wear in the summer. Male Goths can wear light natural fiber shirts and short black trousers. Wide-brimmed hats and black umbrellas are also widely used by Goths as accessories.

Gothic fashion boots are one of the many compelling Gothic fashion accessories. Female Goths generally wear boots with high heels, while Gothic men wear flatted boots. The color of the boots is usually dark black. However, one in a blue moon, you can see Goths wearing bloody-red boots. Gothic boots were usually heavy as they were used at work.

In 1910s, looks gave a boost to some kind of Goth fashion. She inspired many to follow the style of her dark eye-shadow. Bettie Page, David Bowie and Robert Smith are the other Gothic style icons. Gothic clothing is not exclusive to American and European countries. The clothing fashion is also gaining popularity in eastern countries such as China and India. The important point of Gothic clothing is to bring out your best Gothic features.

Fashion Clothing Tips for Short Women

Petite curvaceous women definitely need to elongate their body using their clothing style for minimizing the volume. This is the general rule for the women owning this type of figure. In order to cover the faults of a figure not belonging to a tall, skinny 'giraffe' type model, you need to follow some essential tricks.

- Your aim is to elongate your body. The most frequent mistake petite women making in terms of clothing is cutting their bodies by using pieces of clothes as jackets and belts in the wrong proportions. Wearing large belts on top of pants or skirts together with blouses of different color is not the best choice as it cuts the body in two parts, drawing attention to the shortness of the figure.

- You should also avoid wearing extra fabric around the waist. You already possess a good amount of volume in this area and the last thing you need adding some more.

- A false myth is the idea that very long skirts make your legs look long. Very long, baggy skirts make your legs look shorter. Long skirts may make you look taller if they go down to the ankle level and if they are straight.

- A good trick to elongate your legs is to wear straight pants that cover your shoes. This will definitely add some extra inches to your legs.

- Mixing colors is permitted for petite women but remember that it is the monochromatic clothing that makes you look taller and slimmer.

- Avoid wearing thick fabric clothing as it adds extra weight to your figure.

- The best trick to elongate your body is to wear vertical lines patterned clothing. But keep in mind not to exaggerate as you will end up looking like a zebra. It is enough to wear a pair of jeans that have a vertical line in the seams and you will create the illusion of a taller person. Just one or two lines are enough to create this illusion. Try to avoid wearing clothing items with multiple vertical lines or mixing two garments with lines pattern.

- If you also have some extra pounds, the best way to hide them is to fit properly the clothing items. Remember that oversize t-shirts don't hide extra pounds, they make people look baggy, without any shape.

- Too tight means too bad. However very tight clothes are risky too.Properly fitted clothes help you show the best of your body. Never wear clothes that show an open view of your tummy. It will only call attention to this wrong part of your figure.

- And the 'must do' rule for petite women is to always wear high heels. Matching stilettos to long, straight pants is the combination that will make you look taller and slimmer in any situation.

And keep in mind: any figure fault can be covered by using the right piece of clothing.

Gothic Clothes Styles - From Romantic Goth to Cybergoth

Traditional period Goth garb usually consists of mostly black clothing along with some white and are often accessorized with silver or pewter. The stereotypical gothic outfit sometimes referred to as the romantic look may include elaborate gowns and corsets, veils, full skirts, neck corsets, fishnets, lace and velvets. Also popular are tight-fitting trousers, pointy boots, flouncy poet or pirate shirts and footwear with buckles. I find the simplicity of traditional Goth style lends itself to variation, and is can be combined with fetish elements to give it a dark and romantic edge.

Closely related to the Romantic (Victorian, Elizabethan, Renaissance) Goth style is the Gothic Lolita style that emerged from Japan, usually a combination of black and white, often black with white lace and typically decorated with ribbons and lace trims. Frilly, ruffled or lace-trimmed Victorian blouses are also popular with Gothic Lolitas and designs are usually modest, sometimes with long lace-capped sleeves and/or high-necked blouses. Some additions may include mini top hats, parasols, and lace headdresses.

Most recently, Goth fashion has been infiltrated by forward-thinking styles that are more futuristic, science fiction and youthful. UV-reactive colors and materials, progressive fashions, huge shoes and boots, wild hair extensions using artificial materials, often with an undercut shave, goggles, cybernetics, androgyny, the influence of cyberpunk or anime themes and body modification are some of the elements of Cybergoth. A full-spectrum of bright or neon colors are an exciting addition to black. For example, a popular combination is black with hot pink, a flattering color for most skin tones.

Of course, you can borrow elements of one or more gothic subcategory and sometimes this is dependent on the occasion. For gothic theme parties, you may combine elements of vintage, Victorian and fetish to create a costume that is intentionally spectacular and fantasy-oriented as an artistic display.
